About Us

Hello everyone, and welcome to Bao’s Pastry Boutique Website. My name is Bao and I am the Pastry Chef through whom Sweet Dreams can come true!

In 2015, I graduated with a Professional Pastry Degree from the Paris Auguste Escoffier School. Immediately, I began working with several pastry boutiques and bakeries around Paris. It was in these bakeries that I developed a great passion for fine pastries.

In 2018, my family & I moved from Paris, France to the U.S. We visited family in Northwest Indiana and quickly fell in love with Valparaiso, a very special place. In this region there is a wonderful environment, thriving economy, beautiful neighborhoods, fantastic schools, & incredibly friendly people! We knew we had to live here.

Quickly, we had a hard time finding the delicate pastries and crusty French bread from our home country. We saw a need for Bao’s pastries and our neighbors agreed. My husband & 3 small children began serving customers at local farmer’s markets. In fact, it was in this experience, that our supporters wished we would open a store.

In the spring of 2020, my husband and I opened our beautiful little French Pastry Boutique on Jefferson Street…And what happened next belongs to history! Soon, we will celebrate our third year of operations and incredible success! Since the very beginning, we were so blessed to be able to operate such a beautiful business, in the middle of such wonderful communities in and around Valparaiso!

Since coming to the United States with my family, our life has been a beautiful story, like a dream come true, the “American Dream” But the real story starts now, with our new Pastry Boutique in downtown Valparaiso.
