Meet Bao, the French Pastry Chef—and her wonderful team—turning Sweet Dreams into reality! Just six years ago, Bao and her family made the journey from Paris, France, to the United States. In March 2018, they found their perfect home in the Chicagoland area, settling in Valparaiso.

They were enchanted by the wonderful environment, high quality of life, vibrant economy, beautiful neighborhoods, and the breathtaking nature surrounding Lake Michigan. The friendly and peaceful community truly won their hearts.

Bao’s journey as a Pastry Chef began in France, where she graduated with a Professional Pastry Degree in 2015 from the prestigious Paris Auguste Escoffier School. She immediately embarked on her career, working with several pastry boutiques and bakeries in Paris, honing her craft and gaining invaluable experience.

Since then, her passion has always been to create the most refined and delicious pastries, always focusing on quality, taste, and stunning design.

Over the past year, Bao and her husband have delighted customers at the farmers’ markets in Valparaiso and Chesterton, offering authentic French pastries and traditional desserts. This experience exceeded their expectations, with enthusiastic calls from customers and supporters for Bao to open her own store.

Their move to the United States has been a beautiful story, a dream come true—their “American Dream.” Now, the real adventure continues with the opening of Bao’s Pastry Boutique in downtown Valparaiso, where the whole team warmly invites everyone to visit and experience their exquisite creations.

They can’t wait to welcome you soon! (And stay tuned, because they have already purchased a second location downtown—not too far from here—and are actively working on fully remodelling it, and opening soon a Parisian-style high-tea room!)
